Björn Drenkwitz “Eureka”

Björn Drenkwitz graduated in Drama, Theatre and Media Studies from the Goethe University of Frankfurt and in Audiovisual Arts from the University of Mainz. His main interest as an artist is to portrait people in various everyday and unusual situations, often using film and video installations as his artistic medium.

During his stay in Poznań, the artist will begin a video project called Eureka, referencing Archimedes’s famous saying, which he exclaimed after discovering the principle of buoyancy. The idea is to give voice to ordinary people, who will talk about their “Eureka moments”, when they were suddenly dazzled by a life-changing idea (whether they acted on it later or not). The project’s aim is also to show the places where these ideas came to life, thus presenting the context out of which they arose. Read the rest of this entry →
